Driver restraints and dummy kinematics Dummy movement wasn't well controlled. There was too much upward movement of the steering wheel, which contributed to the dummy's head hitting the steering wheel through the airbag. During rebound, the dummy moved toward the driver door, and its head approached the window sill. |

Action shot taken during the frontal offset crash test.

The dummy's position in relation to the steering wheel and instrument panel after the crash test indicates that the driver's survival space was maintained reasonably well.

The steering wheel moved upward too much.

Moderate footwell intrusion contributed to the possibility of injuries to both lower legs.
