Driver restraints and dummy kinematics Dummy movement was reasonably well controlled. Steering wheel movement contributed to the dummy's head bottoming out the airbag and hitting the steering wheel. During rebound from the airbag, the dummy moved toward the driver door, and its head hit the B-pillar. |

Action shot taken during the frontal offset crash test.

The driver space was maintained reasonably well.

White paint behind the dummy's head indicates where it hit the head restraint and B-pillar after rebounding from the airbag.

Red and white paint on the knee bolster indicates where the dummy's knee and shin hit hard enough to cause injury in a real crash.
