Moderate overlap front: original test

Rating applies to 2009-17 models

Tested vehicle: 2008 GMC Acadia SLE 4-door 4wd

The GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook were introduced in the 2007 model year. The Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse were introduced in the 2008 and 2009 model years, respectively. The Outlook was discontinued after the 2009 model year.

For the 2017 model year, the Acadia large SUV was renamed the Acadia Limited and sold when new only to fleets. The Acadia Limited shares no ratings with the 2017-18 GMC Acadia, redesigned for 2017, and the 2018 Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse, redesigned for 2018. All three current models are now midsize SUVs.

Action shot taken during the frontal offset crash test.

The dummy's position in relation to the steering wheel and instrument panel after the crash test indicates that the driver's survival space was maintained very well.

Smeared greasepaint indicates where the dummy's head contacted the side curtain airbag during rebound.

Intrusion into the driver's space was minimal, and all leg and foot injury measures were low.
