Moderate overlap front: original test

Rating applies to 2012-13 models

Tested vehicle: 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Premium 4-door 4wd

The Subaru Impreza, not including the WRX performance models, was redesigned for the 2012 model year. Moderate offset frontal ratings are assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by Subaru. The frontal ratings also apply to the wagon (5-door) version of the Impreza and to the XV Crosstrek, a wagon with increased ground clearance that was introduced in the 2013 model year.

About the original moderate overlap front test

Side: original test

Rating applies to 2012-16 models

Tested vehicle: 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Premium 4-door 4wd with standard front and rear head curtain airbags and standard front seat-mounted torso airbags

The Subaru Impreza, not including the WRX performance models, was redesigned for the 2012 model year. Side ratings are assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by Subaru. The side ratings apply to the 4-door sedan and wagon (5-door) versions of the Impreza and to the Crosstrek, a wagon with increased ground clearance introduced in the 2013 model year (originally known as the XV Crosstrek).
